Lommel – The SDG flag is flying in Lommel. While the City was looking for Sustainable Heroes, on 20 and 21 September a seriously sustainable European delegation from Photorama descended on Lommel.

Glass recycler Maltha in Portugal, a Renewi subsidiary, has been undergoing an important transition in the past two years. Investments are ongoing, safety has improved and the quantity and quality of the product increased. Nowadays, Maltha Portugal is a profitable and sustainable glass recycler.

As with the other Renewi and Coolrec sites in the Netherlands, glass recycler Maltha has a successful recertification process under its belt, which demonstrates that it is meeting the requirements for level 4 on the CO2-Performance Ladder The CO2-Performance Ladder is a sustainability tool that encourages companies to measure and reduce CO2 emissions from their business operations, projects and within the chain.

Glass recycler Maltha, a joint-venture between Renewi and Owens-Illinois, is ready for the extra volumes of glass that are expected over the coming festive period.

Kevin Bell has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Maltha Glass Recycling Group from November 15th, 2021. The glass recycler is owned by recycling company Renewi and glass packaging producer Owens-Illinois.
