Locations
Maltha, with its facilities in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Portugal, is one of the largest glass waste recyclers in Europe.
Maltha aims to return as much collected glass as possible to the glass chain in order to create a fully circular product and cycle.
Netherlands
Heijningen (Dintelmond)
Maltha's recycling plant in Heijningen receives hollow glass (packaging glass) primarily sourced from municipal collections, recycling centers, the hospitality sector, and retailers. The collected glass is recycled here into circular raw materials that find new life in the glass industry.
The location is accessible by both truck and ship. With a maximum production capacity of 300 kilotons per year, it ranks among the largest glass recycling plants in Europe.

Lommel
Maltha Lommel specializes in processing both laminated and non-laminated flat glass. Using two advanced production lines, we recycle approximately 220 kilotons of flat glass into valuable raw materials each year. A significant portion of this glass comes from recycling programs, recycling centers, construction companies, (greenhouse) demolition companies, glaziers, and specialized collectors in the automotive sector..
After processing the glass, valuable secondary raw materials are recovered, such as glass, PVB (polyvinyl butyral), and metals. These materials are then given new life, preferably in endless cycles. The location is accessible by both truck and ship.

Izon
Maltha Izon processes glass waste streams from France and is strategically located next to one of O-I's factories, a leading global producer of packaging glass. Our factory produces glass cullet and glass powder, which serve as valuable raw materials for both the glass and insulation industries.
Through various treatment steps, the glass is reduced to increasingly smaller particles. These particles are carefully screened and then used to produce glass powder. All materials resulting from this process find new life in the glass industry or are utilized in glass furnaces. With a production capacity of more than 200 kilotons per year, our factory is one of the key players in the sector.

Lavilledieu
Maltha Lavilledieu specializes in processing glass waste streams from France. The resulting secondary raw materials are reused in the glass packaging industry, thereby contributing to closing the loop within the glass chain.
With a production capacity of 150 kilotons per year, our factory plays a significant role in the sustainable recycling and reuse of glass waste.

Beziers
At our Maltha Beziers location, we process the container glass collected by O-I Beziers. O-I is the world’s largest manufacturer of glass packaging and a partner to many leading beverage and food brands. Here, we recycle more than 200 kilotons of glass material annually into valuable raw materials.
After processing the container glass in our factory, valuable secondary raw materials are recovered, such as glass cullet and glass powder. The glass powder produced from our high-tech pretreatment line is of very high quality. All materials are given new life in glass furnaces and in the insulation industry, contributing to closing the loop within the glass chain.
